
PT Participates in “Boston Voices”
Series
Boston, MA, August 31, 2005 —
Boston literary figures Susan Manning and Ben Mezrich shared
the stage on August 22nd during the noon hour at Faneuil Hall.
Ms. Manning, Positive Teens magazine’s publisher, introduced
two young Boston writers to share the spotlight as they read
some of their published poems and essays from past issues
of the magazine. Ms. Manning also read selected works from
other Boston area teens whose writings have appeared in Positive
Teens.
Published in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, Positive Teens,
ACCENTUATING THE POSITIVE IN TODAY’S TEENS is a global
publication. It has showcased articles authored by teen and
young adult writers since its first publication in 1998.
Author Ben Mezrich, author of Bringing Down the House, also
read a selection from his upcoming book Busting Vegas.
The readings were repeated later in the day at the Honan-Allston
branch of the Boston Public Library.
“Boston Voices,” a celebration of local authors, is part of
Mayor Thomas Menino’s Boston 375 Anniversary Celebration.
