Diabetes - A Disease of the Young and Old
Diabetes is the term used to describe any of several diseases that can affect your blood glucose (blood sugar), causing it to be too high. Although there are three distinct kinds of diabetes, the most common are type 1 and type 2. Juvenile diabetes (type 1) usually is diagnosed in children, teenagers, and young adults. Type 2 is more commonly diagnosed in adults. However, recent medical studies done in the United States have shown an alarming increase of type 2 in children and teens.
The signs of diabetes:
- being very thirsty
- urinating often
- feeling very hungry or tired
- losing weight without trying

These signs are warnings that something more could be seriously wrong. Play it safe with your health and your well being, tell someone!
