Is she “Delusional…or what?” (Positive
Teens, June 2006)
Uncertainty is her biggest challenge. “Delusional — isn’t
that what they call people when they’re crazy? With every
ounce of frustration that builds up within me, there is just
as much feeling for the opposite emotion. Likewise, equal
to the frustration, is an apathetic outlook on any aspect
of a situation. With every predicament, every question and
every thought, I am challenged within myself. With so many
feelings, tensions run high. There are supposed to be two
sides to every story, but what happens when there are more?
“If someone asks my opinion of something, dozens of answers
ring out in my ears. It can mean never really knowing my own
opinion because there’s too much chaos inside my head to sort
it all out.”
Do
you think that our writer is crazy or is her reactions
normal for a teenager?
Do
you have mental debates with yourself over minor things as
well as important decisions? If yes, do you find it hard to
make decisions too?
Our
writer defines the word delusional “as a state of mind.” Is
it?
No More! Ending an abusive relationship
(Positive Teens, April 2006)
Do
you think you are in an abusive relationship? If yes, are
you too afraid to break up with him?
If
someone confided to you that they were being abused by their
boyfriend and asked for your advice, what would you tell her?
Do
you believe that a guy can be battered by his girlfriend?
What
would you say makes for a good relationship between two people
who say they love each other?
Are you a high school or
a college student? Have you ever mentored or been a pen pal
to someone younger than you? What advice would you tell him/her
about how to survive the four years of high school?
Have you, or someone else you
know, been inspired by something that has appeared in a particular
story or article in PT?
Do you believe that other people’s
actions can affect how you see yourself?
Did September 11, 2001 really
change how generations of young people live their lives and
view the world? Has it affected you?
If books are censored — challenged
and/or banned — how do you think it will affect future generations?
Misconceptions or facts — are these
generalizations or are they really true? Here’s a chance to
voice your opinion. Tell us what you think.
