Glocal is an amalgamation of the words global and local. The program, according to the Web site, was created to be a “global-local network of youth that aims to encourage and facilitate the participation of youth in local government, city-to-city networking, and peace-building.”

We Are the Future (You Are the Answer) - www.wearethefuture.com
A program initiated The Quincy Jones Listen Up Foundation and the Glocal Forum to create child centers in war-torn countries throughout the world.

iEARN - www.iearn.org
According to this site's home page, iEARN is a "global network that enables young people to use the Internet and other new technologies to engage in collaborative educational projects." On-line educational collaborations — in the form of forums and summits — enhance learning about cultural differences, and help empower young people into becoming involved in local and global issues. These issues can include debates and discussions on such topics as global warming, building schools and obtaining educational supplies, or HIV/AIDS prevention.

This site is a great link to youth-related events, organizations, and scholarships around the globe. It was established to encourage self-expression through writing and art.

THIMUN Youth Network - www.thimunyouth.net or www.thimun.org
The Hague International Model United Nations Youth Network (TYN) is an accredited non-governmental foundation associated with the United Nations Department of Public Information. The program was created to encourage youth 16 to 25 years of age "to seek through discussion, negotiation and debate, solutions to the various problems of the world." In January of each year, delegates representing as many as 100 countries from at least six continents attend the United Nations' Human Rights conference in the Hague, Netherlands.

Youth In Action is a program of the Foundation of America. The mission of the program "is to create opportunities, recognition and financial support for the voices, ideas and solutions of youth." The site is part of the USA network of the Global Youth Action Network.

Youth Employment Summit - www.yesweb.org
Check out this site to find out about the YES Campaign. According to the site, the YES Campaign's "focus is on building the capacity in developing countries to create programs and policies for youth employment."
