Terror Tuesday

There was terror on September 11, 2001
Planes crashed, buildings were demolished.
People are still recovering from the historic tragedy.
Everyone's giving the victims a hand,
Contributing their time and money.
Dedicating their lives to save and help others.

My heart goes out to the victims.
The people who did this have not only hurt
The victims, but they have hurt America.
All I can say is that
I love this country
And
We Will Stand United More Than Ever!
God Bless America!

Katrina T., 12

What can I say about terrorists, those who take out their hate on the rest of us? Nothing.
But, I wish there was peace in the North, South, West and East, because September 11 was the scariest.

Rianna H., 12

The following are excerpts from letters addressed to children who may have lost a family member in the September 11 tragedies.

Dear Children of the September Tragedies:
I feel very bad that your parents died, but please don't turn into a very sour person. Just think, would you want your parents to see that you're like that? Try to live a normal life, but never forget them.

Laura Z., 12

I'm sorry for what has happened to your city. Nobody deserved that. Those people who did this should pay for what they did. I know you guys are really hurt and depressed 'cause your parents are the ones who helped you make it through life.

I know you really don't know me, but I still understand. I still have both of my parents and I am thankful for that. Well, God bless you. Take care of yourselves too.

Brittany L., 12

I feel bad for the kids in New York. When the plane hit the towers my family and I were shocked. I think the person who hijacked the plane was dumb. What I want to know is: "Why they had to crash the planes?" I feel sorry because the kids lost their parents and friends…

I think we should go to war and beat or just bomb them. I hope that the President of the United States, George Bush, will make the right decision for the country.

Edward Y., 12

Hi, I live in Los Angeles, California. Even though I may not live in New York, I feel great compassion for the people that have lost a family member. I am sorry for your loss.

It must hurt a lot to lose a mother, or a father, or another family member. Well, all I can do is hope that you feel better. With time you will. But for now, you should stay strong even though it hurts a whole lot.

Lorena C., 12

I'm so sorry for what happened to your parents, your aunt, or uncle. Don't feel bad, as they are in a better place. So think of it as a day of history.

Breeaunne P., 11

I send my deepest apologies to the kids who lost their family members in the tragedy on Tuesday,September 11th.

Let me remind you that we are all still Americans. And those who died, they died as Americans. Those were bad people, who did this act, but we will get them back and they will pay for this horrible tragedy. Have faith wherever you are because we will never surrender to these kinds of people.

We are all glad to be Americans-God Bless America!!

Leslie S., 13

I offer my sympathy and my condolence to you. I am sorry for what happened to you. I wish you happiness and to have a happy life. Also, do the best you can and don't give up on yourself. I know you can do it!

Melissa H., 12

I'm very sorry about all your parents. It was a very sad thing that happened to them.

You're probably thinking, "This girl doesn't know how I feel." And you're right, I don't. But one time my mom went on a business trip to Seattle and I was with my dad. She was gone for almost two weeks. I knew she was all right and everything, but she wasn't close to home. So it was really weird.

Hopefully who ever did this will pay.

Talissa M., 12

When my mom saw it, she was worried. I didn't go to school.

Denise C., 12

Children

Children are special
Children are us
Children can be what you are today
Children grow up to be adults
Children are always good
No matter how bad they are
Children are you!

I'm sorry for your loss.
