Skateboarding
We're dangerous. We take things to the edge. What are we? I can't tell you the answer yet. But, we hang out with a group of friends most of the time, We wear baggy pants with huge pockets on the sides. We use these small boards with four wheels. Do you think you know what we are? Duh! We're skateboarders. We're dull, but at the same time, we are interesting.
Most people wonder what goes on in our minds. We think wild, but at the same time we know what we're doing. Each day we wonder what new stunts we can try. When some people think skateboarders, they think, "What are these people doing? They can get killed." We think, "Who cares!"
When other people see skateboarders, they think "Way cool!" Those are the people who we agree with. We fall over and over again, maybe we'll get hurt, but we like the pain.
Remember and don't forget we are true skateboarders and we're dangerous. Oh yeah! One more thing, SKATEBOARDING IS NOT A CRIME!
Many teens across the country have organized and persuaded their local community to provide areas for skateboarding. Recently announced in Boston, due to the efforts of several local teens, a $117,000 skate park will be built and ready for use by early fall of this year (1999).
